1.4 ghz athlon XP boots at 1.0????

I sent a friend of mine and business partner under the recomendations of you guys here a 1.4ghz athlon xp, the epox 8hka motherboard and 512 ddr ram. Whats wierd is that he said it was posting at 1.0 and he had to up the voltage (all he said) to get it to 1.47

Help an Intel Zealot out I'm trying to understand here

Just tell him to go into his bios & set his fsb to 133/133. he's probably at 100/100 right now & booting at 1050mhz instead of the 1400mhz.

133/133!? Holy crap! Try 133/33 instead.

The 8KHA+ has a CPU Host clock jumper near the AGP slot (JCK1). The default is PC100 on pins 1-2. It should be pins 2-3 for PC133. I did the same thing yesterday!

sandorski, some boards can run the cpu at 100mhz while the ram is at 133,100/133 this would have still made the system post at 1050,that's why i said it should be 133/133 not 133/pci133 but 133/133 cpu & ram.

Like the others said, gotta set the fsb to 133mhz, when i set the fsb on my Dragon + with my xp1700+, it booted at 1.1ghz. Just set it to that and it will be fine.
