Are 1.4 gHz clock locked? My 1.2 isn't and I wouldn't want to do that pencil thing if I bought a new one.
 
I think you will have to unlock it, they had the newer moddels unlocked but when they went up to the next speed they would lock the previous one. Not sure if this is right but I do believe that it is.

Edit: Ok, well another one of my thoughts proven wrong, sorry. I knew they did, but I thought after the xps came out they would start locking them.
 
hmm well i think the 1.4s came unlocked too....but i am not totally sure.....but i'm pretty confident that they DID come unlocked.
 
Both CPUs are unlocked. I changed CPUs saturday, and I think this 1.4 Tbird is kind of shy for OC compare to the sweet 1.2 Axia
