I know there is Herpes Simplex 1 and Herpes Simplex 2 and one of them causes cold sores.

Yes, you can get genital herpes by receiving oral sex from someone with a cold sore.

You just end up with HSV-1 in your crotch, as opposed to the "normal" genital herpes, HSV-2.

The reverse is also true, you can get herpes from going down on someone with an outbreak. (ewww)

This is true.

Everybody that has had mono also has another form of the herpes virus. 🙂 (which is like 99% of the worlds population lol)
 
I learned in college that if a kid has herpes outbreaks on their face its a good chance momma had it all over her vagina... :Q
