On a cold boot, it USED TO boot up at 32 C... and only used to go up to 42 MAX after playing CS

I noticed that the temp on a cold boot is at 42.. and after playing CS.. oh gosh... 48-50!!!!!!!!!

I thought i was this hot SOCAL weather... so i checked at night.. it's cold in my room now and the temp using CPUCool is 42... but why is that????

WHY WHY WHY WHY!!!! i didnt do crap with the comp and over night it does this???

Did i apply not enough artic silver??? i put about a paper thickness of it... and it was working FINE for a week.. not over a night, temp is sky rocketing....

I know that poeple said EPOX runs hot.. but for no reason, it shouldnt do this over a night.. what the heck is wrong?!?!?!??!

Well, for one thing, so-cal was warmed up quite a bit the last few days... Is your system still stable? your temps are still in the "reasonable" range for your mb.

it is PERFECTLY stable.. but even with swiftech.. the temp is too high.. it wasnt like this.... used to idle at 30-31... not it idles at 36... when i boot up, and i go into the BIOS to check the temp... 36...

not a single crash.... i even booted up w/ default speed and voltage (133 x 10)... temp is SAME!

I would not worrie to much, I'm running a 1.333 t-bird with a globalwin cak-38 hsf & A7V133 mb and I'm hitting 44-45c at idle and 50 - 51c at near fullload! stable for me, no problems. Keep in mind the 1.333 t-birds are rated at 95c !! from what I've heard you should not worrie till it gets around 65c+.

I agree with the dog-man. Kor's temps are well within range. My rig has a simliar setup as Kor:

1.33 266FSB OC to 1.4
Asus A7M266
300 watt power supply
2 20GB IBM Deskstar HDs.
CD-ROM and burner
GeForce 256
SB Live!
NIC and modem

I've one 90mm fan blowing in and 80mm bay fan blowing out at the top of the case. With the Thermaltake Mini Copper Orb (and thermal grease), my CPU usually boots up in the high 30s and stays at 50~51 during normal use. It will get up to 53~54 after 3 hours of UT.

I've also tried a Vantec 6254 (same as FOP32) with a 60mm Delta fan is few degrees cooler than the Copper Orb but it's loud as h*ll, so I'm using the Copper Orb currently.

The case I have is a poorly designed mid-tower case because the power supply is directly on top of the CPU (like a mini-tower.) I'm sure it's not helping the CPU temp, but I'm still getting a decent temp reading. I'm upgrading to a bigger case where the power supply sits away from the mobo, not on top of it...

I think your temps are fine. My 1.2 AXIA running at 1.4 usually runs around 51 or 52 at load with the CAK38. Even went up to 57 when my AC was on the fritz last weekend. These CPU should run fine if you keep them under 60.

But I would think with your nice CASE MOD and average room temp you could have lower temps in the low 40's running at 1.33. Kind of wierd how it changed on you though.
