1.2G. Is this temp OK?

I have a 1.2G Athlon that is NOT overclocked. When using SiSoft it reports the "CPU Temprature" as 61C and 141.8F.

Does this seem about right? I'm thinking of OC my system. What is an "acceptable" upper temp range?

Thanks for any and all replies!

Do you have an A7V family MB? What bios revision?

Also, regardless of mb, what is your MB/System temp?

Mike,

My MB/System temp is 36C and 96.8F. I think I was comparing "processor temp" instead of "motherboard" temp to others. 36C for a Asus A7V w/ a 1.2G I believe is acceptable, but I'm not sure because I don't know if others are reporting their MB temp or CPU temp.

Does these temps seems normal?

Well, your CPU temp of 61C is a little bit higher for an a7v(but remember that the a7v's in general read a lot higher than other mbs), but your fairly high mb/system temp sorta explains that...

What is your room temp like, and how's the case cooling?

and what heatsink are you using?

Running at 1200 the idle cpu temp is 59C and mb temp is 35C

Hmm... the warm mb/case temp is probably causing warmer cpu temp readings. I still think that your temps are acceptable for a7v's, but it isn't a great temp, either.
