1.2 over clockable???

is over clocking a 1.2 tbird worth the effort?

with a max multiplier 12.5 on my mother board how high can you go or is there a way around this

Sure its worth the effort if you have good ram set the clock to 12.5 and the fsb to 110 and bang you got a 1375mhz rig.....

However, if you're going to do that, you'd better have a very good cooling solution and good airflow through your case, because it will run hot.

will a 1ghz tbird oc`ed to 1233 wich is were im at running at put out the same amount of heat as a 1.2 oc`ed to 1375?

I'm planning on getting one of the 133mhz FSB Socket A mobos. I get the bit about working with the FSB x the multiplier on the new Via KT133A boards. I get that the CPU cares how fast it is running, not what combination of FSB and multiplier get it there.

But my question is this. What's the collective wisdom about the bet in a marketed chip speed if you want to try to get to 1.2ghz, or at least 1.1, with a Tbird on a Kt 133A board (running 133 /266 fsb)?

I.e., Amd might do some sort and label its relatively sucky chips down in the 800 area, right? Or is it all totally random, except for testing at the rated speed?

Educated guesses appreciated.
