I hope you realize the reason people pay a premium for Craftsman tools - I would check out the warrenty.

I hope you realize that the craftsman lifetime warranty is not included on power tools. Most power tools come with a 1 year warranty.

I own many Craftsman tools (powered and non-powered). Most have lasted for years. No they aren't the best, but I can get 10 of them for the price of one Snap On. Nothing against Snap On. They are pretty awesome, but many can't afford them and most of us aren't "Pros". By the way this drill is probably ok. If it were cordless I would stay far away, but corded might be all right. Anyone getting this drill?

Aren't Craftsman tools guaranteed for life?
Only the regular non-powered mechanics tools (wrenches, screw dirvers, hammers, etc.) have a lifetime warranty.

Hey, come on.....this thing's probably guaranteed all the way up until the first time you put a drill bit in the chuck!! :Q 😀

craftsman is the wrong choice, you need to go with snap on, thats what the pro's use

The pros only appear to use Snapon because they are marketed that way.

For carpenters, Dewault and Milwaukee are definitley the kings. Perhaps snapon may be the best for auto work.

Shipping is 7.61

I got all excited at the inexpensive (although low grade) tools they had, and started adding them to my cart. It appears the minimum shipping for ANY item, even if the object in question costs .99, is $6. Oh well.

can you use this for a normal drill or is the hammer feature always on?

This drill looks a lot like the Milwaukee one I used to use at work and it looks like it has the same switch on it that lets you turn off the hammer feature. FWIW the best hammer drill I have ever used is a Hilti but they cost a lot.

Lets see... when I got married, not too long ago...

I bought a cRapsman Self propelled Lawn mower.... and a CrapSman weed whacker.... both of them goofed up in about 2 years.. I had to tear both of them down to get them going again....

I won't be buying any more Sears crappy tools again.... BTW the drill was an old one... probably 25 years old... (all metal)

My Metrinch tool set (auto) are the best tools I have ever bought...

Thanks for the post Joker, you're the best. In my line of work, we really work tools hard. Any drill that costs $25 will last us a week. If the chuck holds up. Love Craftsman hand tools, yes, even over Snap On. Little fatter in the center and doesn't cut into your hand as much if you have to really bear down on something. No longer like the power tool line. Used to. Anyone in the trades will tell you, for a corded drill, buy a Milwaukee. It'll last a life time or 2. And it doesn't cost that much more. Just a pro opinion.

Yeah, for real heavy power tools (hammer drills, sawzall's etc.) always go with Milwaukee.

Although we do have a cordless reciprocating saw from Dewalt that is similar to a sawzall. It is nice that it is cordless, but does not have nearly the same amount of power.

I got this drill and plugged it in, pulled the trigger and smoke came out and set off my smoke alarm, contacted customer service to see if they will do anything, 10 bucks down the toilet I think.

We love our Milwaukee drill... I can put in new brushes when the drill starts to go bad.

As for this drill... if it's only $3.99, I wonder how much THEY got them for!... jeeze!
