I bought this last Friday. The cpu is retail, boxed with the fan. I think its a pretty good deal. I haven't put it together yet. Maybe tonight. The guy at FRYS told me I needed a big case with 300 watt power supply for this board. He sold me a huge tower cast for $99. Is that too much case for this?

219 b4 tax? I so want to get one. How good is the mobo? Anyone got the specs? I'm too lazy......zzzzzzzzzz

The mobo is actually preferred over the Abit KT7A by a lot of people out there. Anandtech even rated it higher I believe. Some things of note: The southbridge isn't actively cooled like the Abit, but will still run pretty decent FSB speeds in excess of 140mhz or so. I believe Anandtech slapped some thermal grease on it, added a cooling fan, and actually ran it passed 160 or so. (I think)

I just bought a similar deal at a northern california Fry's about 2 weeks ago:

for $299 + tax

No it doesnt support DDR since it is KT133A chipset. BUT...good stability (i have had occasional lockups but not sure if that is the game , DoD, or the comp.) very fast (at least according to Sandra), and no real problems other than flaky onboard USB support which forgets that i have a ms optical mouse almost every boot (will be buying a USB pci card real soon)

Seems like i should have waited for this deal at $219 but i cant complain at least i have bragging rights for like the next week or two...dont I?
