I just tried this...

use 99BUYCOM when you are at the checkout end.

Looks like it is for only 1 year registration, it didn't work out for 5 years @ 1.19$ a year....either way, cheap domain for a year :).

Also :
Save 30% off Domain Renewals w/Coupon ZINE3

you can also try :
Get .COM / .NET / .ORG Domains for $1.99 w/Coupon 199TEST

/self promotion

If you need web hosting, let me know!

Pulled from slick deals.

Worked for me, I had two domains expiring in the next few weeks and it dropped my 2-year total from $40 to $30.
Thanks, OP!

Does GoDaddy offer any sort of WHOIS privacy?

edit: as far as I can tell they offer it for $6 / yr as opposed to free with namecheap. Am I correct or just confused by their website?

Thanks for 199DOMAIN. Bought a domain for $2.19, can't go wrong with that.

I don't understand why people worry about WHOIS privacy. If you're not going to develop the domain... there is really absolutely no reason for it.

namecheap is only free for a year anyway.

You can always change it after you pay for your domain to something fake.

I think they can revoke your domain or such if you get caught entering in fake info.

A few have said it is OK on slickdeals/fatwallet...not sure what the rules is with godaddy...I personally use namecheap for almost everything :)
