We somehow got a break in the middle of the last storm and we came away with nothing.

Yesterday was first full day with power. The ice melted quite a bit and now everyone is seeing just how much damage was done here. There are holes in so may roofs and roofs damaged from the sheer weight of the ice.

I will be uploading pics.

Oh look, after almost two weeks without power the mainstream news finally picks it up:

1-24-2007 Thousands still without power in Okla.

Utility crews have managed to whittle the number of Oklahoma homes and businesses without electricity down to about 9,790, but an approaching winter storm could impede their progress.

Three days of freezing rain that began Jan. 12 coated roads, trees and power lines with ice.

Below-freezing temperatures have slowed recovery from the storm, which arrived not long after a winter storm paralyzed the Oklahoma Panhandle and dumped several inches of snow on other parts.

I know, snow is a heck of a lot easier to deal with, I was in Denver for the 1st 18" snow storm but left before the 44" storm.

Thanks

Even though we went through 3 ricks of wood to keep warm I did have an inverter so I ran debi's car nearly 24/7 for 7 days so we had a couple of lights and the TV because we have DirecTV.

When turned off the lights and TV, it had enough juice to power the coffee maker so we were doing OK.

I roughly calculated the car use versus if we had a generator.

I used 26 gallons with her car but would used 58 gallons with a generator.

The car is a lot quieter too.
