Well if they are current troops they are violating military regulations by voicing political opinions under the color of their uniform. That aside though, I'm just tired of people trotting out The Troops all the time.

I wonder if they will be disiplined?

For me, the whole Green Beret thing has some relevancy, as it makes them particular experts on this weapons. They are more aware of their true capabilities than probably 95% of the population, and definitely more aware than most politicians. That gives them more of a right to speak.

While I agree that it gives them more expertise in how weapons are used, the other things they speak to aren't related to that. (common usage?)

Furthermore it is acting to politicize the military, something we really don't want. While you are in uniform you are free to speak your own opinion, but not under the color of the military. They need to either get out of the army or shut their mouths.
