Quick, someone at home try it and see if there's any big difference from 1.1.3

They're saying that it doesn't really have new features. It breaks unoffical apps and prepares for the SDK.

Engadget is saying early results are looking good for ZiPhone and upgrading from a jailbroken 1.1.3 to 1.1.4, but the results are mixed.

wow, is it me or are these updates taking longer and longer to install each time? After the download, that thing took about 12-15 minutes to fully install.

Ugh.. it is going to be REALLY hard to withstand buying an iPhone next Thursday! AHH.. I just have to wait until June. I know they'll have an updated version then, with possibly 32 GB and 3G. Even if there isn't 3G, I just really want this phone. :)

Damn, and I was THIS close (holds up 2 fingers close together) to bringing my Macbook to work today. Guess I'll have to wait until I get home to update.

That would be nice, let us know what your results are.

I am now getting 2 bars in my basement office. In the corner of the room where my computer desk is, I never got any reception. So that's an improvement!

Also all of the apps now open at a consistent speed and are a tad bit faster to open and close. The sluggishness from 1.1.3 is now gone; that had bothered me a bit.

Honestly I'm pretty happy with the phone now...getting reception where I didn't get it before is great.

I am willing to upgrade if the next phone has 3G plus a better internal speaker...my speakerphone is completely useless in the car :(

No discernable difference for me. I wonder if it fixes the bug where listening to the ipod while surfing the web would close one of the two applications.

There is one area on my drive home were I ALWAYS drop calls, I can almost predict it to the foot.
I'll have to see if the update helps me there.

Is Apple planning on switching the eye phone to Sprint since they have the new WiMAX as well as the super fast CDMA/EVDO network? I read some speculation about this. If thats the case I wanna wait.

Yea, if they would allow you to use the iPhone on a CDMA network, that would be wonderful! Mainly because I wouldn't have to pay the stupid $175 contract fee. I swear I hate contracts, but I like the phones that are available through them. Heh.. sucky cell phone companies.

I'd love that...Verizon's CDMA network here is as good as a landline (literally); I was extremely disappointed when I got my iPhone and hooked up to AT&T's craptacular network. But I believe Apple has a 5-year contract with AT&T so it won't happen anytime soon :p

I would imagine creating a CDMA version wouldn't be cost-effective for apple since majority of the international markets, China, Europe etc. are all GSM based. Plus there's the issue of the exclusivity contract with ATT. While AT&T is far from perfect, my friend's with Verizon aren't getting better reception when I'm not getting any so maybe its just my experiences but it seems the two are a wash in terms of reception.

Well Verizon is better in my area, but not perfect. ATT isn't bad, but they just have a few areas which you will lose signal. Of course, the same happens with Verizon, it's just different places than ATT. My only gripe with switching is the contract termination fee I'll have to pay. Oh well..
