0x00000000 memory error

I was getting this error after i put a 64mb chip along w/ my 128mb, but now i took them both out and put in a 256. at least 3 times a day i get that error.

anyone know what's wrong?

what motherboard are you running? Also have you tried the dimm in different slots? Are you overclocking your memory? Are all the bios setting correct for your memory? Have you put the original 128Mb dimm back and still getting the errors?
 
it is an hp8550c. i tried it in both slots. i am not overclocking it. as it is an hp, there are no ram settings in the bios. anyone else have any ideas?

Go to HP's website and search by model number.

I don't think a reformat is necessary, and it may just screw you when it turns out that the reinstall hangs from the same problem.
