07 civic question

i love the SI spoiler, but dont want to get a manual for a daily beater. The EX models have a little lip on the trunk, think i can get the SI spoiler on the ex, and somehow remove the lip?

Easiest would be to swap trunks with an Si owner, though I doubt most would want to give up their wings. Other than that, talk to a body shop. The stock lip is probably just attached with some adhesive though there may be some clips or something that would require the holes be filled/painted. You'll likely have to get the Si wing painted as well. I think you're looking at a $600 job here, at least.

If it's your daily beater, why spend the extra money for Si spoiler?
Kind of defeats the purpose of having a beater, which is to save money.

hey, dont try to ruin my fun! the civic is cheap enough, what's another $500 to make me enjoy my car a little more?

if i had an Si, I would gladly swap with an EX. they are fugly and call unnecessary attention to your driving. the spoiler on the Si was a significant factor in my decision not to buy one. "spoiler," indeed.

i think it would look ok w/ no spoiler either, eg, that lip thing they have on the EX model makes it look so weird imo, the spoiler is a little bit big, but it looks damn good! you guys are nuts

Ebay sells painted Civic Si spoilers, doubt they're OEM but it's a pretty good price. Take it down the Honda dealership and they can install it for around 60 - 80
