I ordered about 1 week ago and got a 0451. It is a CBBID.

I am not sure when people will get it throught their thick skulls that no single chip can be classified as a good or great oc'er. Each chip is different and YMMV with regards to the steppings. While the CBBID's have had some poor oc'ing results I have also seen some at 2700mhz and above.

I have a week 2 '05 3500+ that's running 2.4 GHz on 1.33 V (actual as read by MBM5)... I can't get it much past 2.4, and I think it's because of my RAM. I've heard these processors don't like CH-5 chips and that's what I have.

0503, 3000+
260x9 Super PI, Prime and bench stable,
DFI Ultra-D
OCZ VX Gold 3200 @ 2-2-2-5

I suspect my ocz is the limitation, but who knows?
Should i buy g.skill?

use memory divider to see how far your cpu can go first.

Nope...In my opinion they are intel memory...high overclock with high HTT and they wont do rated speeds...I have tried 4 sticks now....

I would stick with the VX and run those tight cas 2 timings at 3200 or as close as you can stay to it....

i've got an 0502. will let you know how it runs after i get my pci auto-lock to function correctly and allow me to go over 215-219! thinking i need to flash the bios to a newer version. just wish that they had a newer 'final' instead of all these damn betas!

i got an 0502 as well. It's a little better than my 0451 which wouldn't do 2.5ghz. This one seems to do 2.5ghz just fine, but I couldn't really go over, since my G.Skill memory was bad. I'm getting some PDP Patriot XBL's soon, so I should be able to see if it'll go over 2.5ghz soon.

what version of the gskill did you have? i got some of the pc4400 lc. great stuff. 2-2-2-5-1t @ddr400. havent been able to push it yet though. 🙁

It wont go far as you start ocing the HTT and overall clock speed....You will probably be happy with those sweet timings at 400dr (remember the A64's are not dependent upon memory bandwidth, they like low latency) or 500ddr timings with low cas 2.5's.....

I have a pare that can do 600ddr cas 3,1t...unfortunately I need the 7x300 to do it...then at 8x I can go as high as 290's...then the 9x I cant get 275 1:1 to like cas 3....It a degradation downhill.....

oh yeah, i know it wont hold those timings, but it's rated at 2.5-4-4-8 @ ddr550! most reviews i've seen of it will get 2.5-3-3-7 at that speed. i think that's a pretty good trade. 😉

I just got my 3200 Winchester yesterday, building the computer today.

I got mine from Newegg, I ordered last Sunday.

CBBID: is a 05 week 03

Going to overclock, but can't decide wether I want to try this weekend or wait.

I got a Week 0504, running supa stable at 9x285, retail from the Chief on an epox 9nda3j. I hope that helps, vcore is at 1.475 idles at 35 with stock cooling on it, but i never see over 45 with my case system underload.
