Agreed. Anyone know what the red thing next to the stick where you'd control the blinkers and the light knob is for? I don't remember seeing that when I was sittin in the GTO at the dealer.. appears new to me.

The GTO: spend $40,000 and get the exact same window switches as a $15,000 Saturn!

Iamwiz: I like to make uninformed posts!

GTO is $33k roughly and can be had for less due to the slow sales it has encountered this far. And it is a Holden (AUS), anyone who has gone to sit in one or test drive one will know that they dont share parts with any domestic GM built car. The fit/finish and part quality is very high, go find out for yourself.

That's what I was thinking it might be.

Why does that matter? Do you expect gold switches or something? The C5 Corvette has the same door handles as my mom's 98 Malibu. It doesn't make the Corvette any less of a car.

Interior: Interior of the '04 and '05 both look really nice.

Front fascia: The hood scoops look ghastly, as do the huge fog lights.

Rear fascia: The old rear was more simple, but it better fit the lines of the car. This one has a noticeable Grand Am flair that I dislike. I like the dual exhaust, but the black plastic diffuser hides the exhaust outlets and makes the rear seem too high up. Bah, one step forward, two steps back.

Engine: When is more power ever a bad thing? Big thumbs up.

I like the subtle change to the wheels. The extra crease that wraps around each spoke looks agressive, without looking unnecessary. Slap the '05 engine, interior, wheels, and dual exhaust onto the '04 front/rear fascia and I would happy.

edit: Removed thumb icons and edited for grammar.

I'm thinking ignition starter or heaven forbid, a very large emergency flashers button 😕

But it's almost ridiculous to think you can get the 05's for the same price as the 04's, especially with the LS2 in it. I don't think that'll happen.

Missing the Point: Buy a 400hp car and care worry about what other cars use the same window switches.

Hmm, this design was somewhat cool....when it was on the '97 Cadillac Catera...and that's basically what it is underneath.

THe Catera is based on the Omega platform which is based on the Holden Commodre...the GTO is on the Monaro platform....I could be wrong, but those two are slightly different.

Anyway, the GTO looks sweet. Clean lines, elegant design. It's the best looking Pontiac out right now.

And with that engine...well...it's awesome. 400hp, IRS, clean design inside and out, nice interior, awesome seats, and decent price. I wish we got it in Canada.

Quick, someone pop a Toyota badge on the side, so we can get a more unbiased opinion.
