0404 USB > Logitech Z 5500 ... No Sound

I have connected my 0404 USB to logitech Z 5500 using optical. There is no sound no matter what i do, music , movies etc.
When connected to motherboard optical out, sound is there.

Where am I going wrong, any settings on the 0404 that i need to change ? I have tried all possible settings on the 0404 & logitech control pod of the z 5500.

The 0404 is functional as im using the headphone out.
 
Go into the driver mixer panel(assuming this is roughly the same as my 1212m). click on 2nd oval grom the upper right(right underneath the minimize and close buttons). Click on I/O tab and change SPDIF output format to S/PDIF. Do the same for the optical output setting.

Go back to the main mixer. In the main insert section and insert send (output to ASIO/WAVE or physical out). Select SPDIF L/R.

You should be good now. Keep in mind I own the 1212m which is PCI so the settings may vary...slightly. If anything doesn't appear to be there on yours please take some screen shots of the menus in question and I'll take a look.


Also, the e-mu cars can't output Dolby digital or DTS. Just in case you didn't know.
