after disappearing, I AM BACK! :) new tbred...

I was comparing my 0310 and 0319 chips and have noticed a clear difference between the two.

not with overclocking, which i haven't done yet :)

On the organic material of my 0310 which is brown, the numbers 27291 can be found close to the corner with the small triangle next to it

On the 0319 which is green, the numbers 27648 can be found in the same location

On the 0310, you can see the bridges and blah blah and what not on the chip

On the 0319, you can actually see the network of wires or cables or whatever running through the top of the organic material

here's the pic

it's blurry so i apologize but if you look at the bottom left corner, you can kind of make out the numbers

if you look at the top left where the light glare is, you'll see what i mean...

anyone else notice this on their 0319?

refer to this picture then

see the 27291 marking on the bottom left corner of the tbred

the new 0319s read 27648

see how smooth the organic material is on the tbred with the 27291

if you look back at my original pic, you'll see it's not perfectly smooth

hope that helps

LOL@shim.

I do see the circuit traces on the pic that you took. Nick was askingfor the bunny pic. :D

How's the overclockability on that chip?? Good?

Reminds me of a P3 my friend had.

Kinda cool, what kind of CPUs are these (1700+?), and how does it OC?

someone already started a 0319 thread :)

no one said anything about the "traces" though.... so i thought i'd throw it in

not too bad so far..

1.6 volts = 2.2 ghz

yup thats' where... :) svc.com

woo hoo! finished with my nb/sb mod :)

i have a vanteq iceberq 4 pro on my nb and zalman on my sb

still can't figure out why my computer is being gimp

my 3dmark2k1 scores are the same for a processor at 2.3 ghz as it is for one at 2.1 ghz

Shim, I noticed the traces on my 0319 from svc too. Didn't really look numbers on the corners. Seems like the limit on my chip is 2125 @ 1.5v I'd bump it up more but my pc2700 probably won't go much higher and I'm already on 12.5 multi :/

 You know I'm just bustin' your chops. Heck you bustin mine about not knowing WTF I was talking about on T-bred steppings awhile back is what lit a fire under me to start playing with AMD again after a considerable Intel trek, so thanx

I just don't see the point right now and I'm going to hold off for prescott *drools :p * till then my 2.4B@3.01 167fsb 418DDR will just have to be enough. Besides this Barton and Soltek NF2 combo is the most fun I've had with tweaking and overclocking computers in years :sun:

I remember reading about that in the Inquirer some while back. They had links to these japanese websites with clear pictures of them. AMD seems to be moving on to a new packaging style so that it'll be harder to cut/cover bridges and I think you just bought one of them. Oh well...it doesn't really matter with the nForce2 anyways...lol

With the traces staying on the top layer, won't it be easier than ever to connect bridges? In the past you only had a tiny dot to make contact on either side of the bridge, but if there's a trace all around it, you could just scratch off a bit of the laquer and have a (relatively) huge contact area. Neither of those pics are high-enough resolution for me to be certain of this though.

Edit: Oh, NOW I see... at least they seem to have left the bridges in the same place, same functions AFAICT.

I would assume that it would be harder because of the traces being so close to the top layer. If you make a deep enough cut (let's hope you don't have to cut the cpu...) then there's a high chance of hitting one of these traces, and in the process shorting your brand-spanking-new cpu :Q!

just my 2 cents :)
