Does anyone know what atacom is talking about in their description:
"AMD ATHLON XP 1700+,UNLOCKED JIUHB 0309, SKT-A (30 DAYS WARR.)-OEM - GOOD QUALITY, EASY TO OVERCLOCK"
I was under the impression that ALL 1700+'s were multiplier locked and you could unlock 12.5 and down using the wire trip on the mobo. However, the only way to get to the higher mults is to mess with breaking some of the L3 bridges.
Is this chip unlocked so you don't need to use either method to access different mults? I have a KT333 board so the higher mults are more appealing since bumping the FSB too high will affect my overall stability. I only have the 1/5 divider not the 1/6 like the KT400.
