007 for PS2

Recently purchased PS2, and I wanted to know how the new 007 game compares to the N64 version. Basically is it worth getting??

-Yeah...you thought it was rain

i played it, it's pretty much the same game, with better graphics, and a different story. so, if you liked the first one, get this one.

I've played the new Bond on PS2. Frankly, it's almost the same game...albeit a great one at that.

Metal Gear Solid 2 has to be the best game on console EVER. Hands down.

here's a good review of the new bond game.

I got this game and quit playing after about 5 minutes. The controller setup is horrible. There are only four different setup options and all of them suck ass. At least, that was my opinion.

If you could have set up the buttons any way you liked, then it might have been better. But, I couldn't stand it and promptly quit playing it. FPS are for the PC anyway, in my opinion. I just can't use the analog sticks to aim very well at all.

<<screenshots look ok. have you played metal gear 2? >>

no not yet. I went to search for that last night, and I quickly learned that I have a better chance of finding Hoffa's body before I will be able to find that game. I figured that I will wait until the next shipment comes in, but for the meantime I picked up GT 3...I figure that should occupy my time until I get metal gear.

<<Metal Gear is pretty good, but GTA3 is where it's at.>>

I have heard good things about it, but I never liked either of the first 2. Is the 3rd different, or is it similar to its predecessors??

thanks for the link spooner, however, yet again, due to the lame-acity of my company I am unable to visit that site....awesome:|

I hated the first two. Never got more than a mission in before the controls got annoying and the cars were too hard to drive.

GTA3 is different. It's the coolest game made. Imagine the first two in a completely 3-d environment where the camera is over the shoulder and you can do anything. Want to pick up a hooker? Be my guest. Want to beat an innocent bystandard with a baseball bat, go for it. It keeps stats of everything, there's over 70 missions, and tons of extra missions. It's an incredible game. I'd much rather play it than Metal Gear.

But, everyone has their own opinions. Mine is just that GTA3 is the coolest game on PS2. However, it's coming for PC, so you can decide what system to buy it for. Although if you buy it for PS2, you wont put it down for a long time (or at least until State of Emergency comes out).

Yes, I played the first 2 for about 30 seconds each and the 3rd has completely hooked me in. I think the reason the 3rd is better is because it actually has a sort of plot / objective. In 1/2 I always felt like the whole point of the game was to drive around and steal cars and missions were just secondary. Besides, it is a wicked fun game.

I've played and also HIGHLY recommend GTA3. It's NOTHING like the first 2, and the graphics are really nice.

GSOYF -- you realize you're coming over my house Saturday, and we're playing PS2 and getting drunk now, don't you? We'll have to work it around football somehow.

GTA3 is waaaaaaaaaaaay different than it's predecors.

Well... the story is the same but it's 3D, Which means that you don't have to use that horrible bird view anymore.
You can look forward like any normal racing game and when you "die" (actually you're only badly injured) or get busted it just costs you money.

It other words:
same consept beter gameplay

i was in wal-mart of all places a couple nights ago, and they had Metal Gear 2 sitting right there in the case. a ton of them. I thought that walmart didn't carry games with an "M" rating!!?? but, you might wanna check there.

The WalMart here has about 30 or 40 copies sitting behind their glass case.

but, GTA3 would be the better buy...

sounds good spoons....just gonna have to grab another tv from somewhere...i think we can handle that.

Best games out right now for the PS2 (IMHO):

1) Grand Theft Auto 3: Not for kids, but man! What a game! My brother and I so far have done ONE mission, because we spend the rest of the time just running around the city getting into trouble and stealing things. In the game, I mean. In real life we don't even jaywalk! We're wusses! 😉

2) Final Fantasy X: This is the best FF game, nay - RPG - I've ever seen or played. Awesome story, beautiful graphics, great RPG gameplay. A thinking, watching game more than action.

3) Metal Gear Solid 2: Just plain awesome!!!

4) Gran Tourismo 3: Best. Racing Game. Ever.

5) Soul Reaver 2: I love the voices, graphics, story, and action.

Now, keep in mind I don't like many sports games, so Madden, Tony Hawk, etc are all top 5 games for most people. FreQuency for a music/puzzle game, Ace Combat 4 for a dogfighting game, and yeah, Bond is a good shooter. Red Faction is better tho.

Geez there is simply too much to play!!!!
