Yes, thats right, 0-122 mph in 2.5 sec. Cedar Point is building a 424 ft tall monster. It is to be launched to a world record speed of 122 mph in 2.5 sec. The bugs are really going to hurt at that speed. Looking at the construction gets me all warm inside.

Doesn't look all that big until you look at this link:

The other coaster in the background is only 310 ft tall. The new one is going to be a monster. I hope you all go out there to give it a spin next year.

Sweet jesus. When I first popped in here I thought it would be about some rocket-car or something.

But it's a coaster. Which means I can actually ride that sucker.

:Q :Q  :D

Yea right, I will go get into line now so I am ready to right by July. :)
I hate those stupid lines. 2 hours in line for a 20 second right can rot.

Cedar Point is not Six Flags and they kill them in service. The staff at CP is a thousand times faster and if you go on the right days, most waits are no longer than 20 minutes. They pump people through the rides.

It's in Sandusky, Ohio. About 45 minutes west of Cleveland. The place wins best amusement park every year.

I go to Cedar Point every year and the lines are awful. They are actually getting worse each year. They hype a ride all winter and then the line to ride it is suck
I went 2 days last year and never got to ride the new ride. I love the park but hate the lines.
When I was a teenager the lines were not bad but now at 34 my tolerance for lines has shrunk.

Hell yes, and rightfully so. They are, by far, the best coaster park anywhere.

Do not get me wrong, I go every year for a reason. It is the best park I have ever been to and I have been to a lot of them.

Ah, yes the waits can be up to 3 hours for a ride. You need to go on a Sunday or Tuesday. These are the least crowded days. CP also offers a fast pass sort of thing that doesn't cost you anything. Its one of the hidden jewels of the park. Most people don't know about and think you are kind of VIP when you walk to the front of the line making your wait about 20 minutes.

Do not go in late July or early August. The lines do get horrendous (sp?). The new ride this year had problems with the spikes. The cross bracing had to be rewelded almost every night and caused for the ride not to be run at max velocity for a couple of months. They are supposedly putting new spikes on the ride over the winter.

Sometimes I wonder if the engineers behind some of those rides are sadistic. :)

A similar ride in California does 0-82 in about 2 secs. No problems with the acceleration there.

It looks more like acceleration from a drop, rather than from propulsion. This means you won't get the "slam into the back of the seat" acceleration, but more of a free fall windy ride. Still, that sensation of hitting the bottom of the hill and climbing the next will be sick!

I don't know when you guys go, but I agree with optoman, the wait is hardly anything if you go a the right time. I had to wait an hour for the Raptor... everything else was 20minutes max. I went during the summer too... saw some people pass out from heat exhaustion, 1 of them started seizing.

I like this park but it freakin stinks because it's surrounded by water.

I love that aspect because you get to see all of the water when you are on top of the coasters :D

Cedar Point puts every other amusement park to shame... I am disgusted when people try to compare a Six Flags to Cedar Point.

Hypersonic XLC at King's Dominion does 0-80 in 1.8s. It's an air-compressed launch, too, so you hear a very loud "WHOOSH" as you are thrown back in your seat. :D
