Since each game got its own thread, I decided to start one for this day.

And of course, I'm in support of my home country's team: BRAZIL! Although I don't expect much from the team (especially since the capitain was injured yesterday on a dumb game), I don't want to see another France x Senegal.

Game starts in almost 6 hours. I think it's 5AM eastern time ... 2AM PST.

Mexico vs. Croatia: 2h30 EST
Italy - Ecuador: 7h30 EST

I'm going to try and stay up for the Brazil vs. Turkey game... we'll see what happens.

All the games tonight should be pretty good.

Got up to watch the Croatia vs Mexico game and already I'm regretting it ;) 1-0 to Mexico (penalty) with about 15 mins left. Not very interesting game at all..

Pretty dire stuff really. Still, Brazil vs Turkey should be good. Turkey are actually a pretty good, technically gifted team so don't write them off totally.

Obviously I'm still very upset at England's AWFUL performance yesterday :(

Should be a good game.

Everyone is saying how Brazil have no chance this year, but when you look at the team they still have some damn good players in there.

1-0 Turkey, can't really say that they deserve to be in the lead, but it should make for an interesting second half now.

Turkey has been taking a lot of dives and not getting called for it. I really don't like that. Brazil has had some good chances including that header that Rusti barely saved. I was really suprised to see all the fouls in the game. I knew that Turkey would have to be physical to keep Brazil in check but three cards? Anyways, I really didn't expect that goal right before stoppage.

The Mexico vs. Croatia game wasn't that good. Croatia almost tied it in the end but couldn't quite manage. It wasn't really that eventful of a game except for the red card that left Croatia short a man.

LOL, I haven't paid much attention to world cup until this year. I played soccer for about three years but I eventually stopped after my father died. I have a friend who is a soccer fiend and a british friend who goes nuts over the stuff. He wanted me to stay up and watch the England game with him at my apartment but I fell asleep.

i feel you on that... i thought Brazil was owning the game till that sweet goal. Gotta see how it plays out

Brazil are threatening to swamp Turkey now. Great game, one of the best of the competition so far I think :)

It amazes me how little defending the brazilian full-backs do. (Roberto Carlos and Cafu.)
They spend all their time as attacking players. No other team could get away with it.

LOL that ball kicked at Rivaldo went NOWHERE near his face. He didn't quite act that out well.

Someone explain something to me. If a player is red carded does that mean they can't play in the next game and their team is down them for the next game too?

WOW, great game!! The best one so far.
Thought that the turkish team lost control of the game in the last 15 minutes. Too many fouls, and that last red card was uncalled for. The referee was terrible, making too many mistakes. But Brazil won, and I'm happy with that.

Time to go to school ... Brazil is starting its gears, and the country will have quite a nice day today.

Brazil vs Turkey GREAT game. If anyone missed it they should do themselves the courtesy of watching it on replay.
