Hello all! I have read great stuff about the board so..
Ok here is my problem:
Setup -
Barton 2500 (new)
Crucial 3200 2 sticks 256 (new)
WinXP
Allied 350 PS
Not sure why this is happening but....
First the board wrongly ID's the processor as an 1100. Easy fix just change the FSB to 166. OK...
The AN35 doesn't. seem to float anyones boat here? Seems like a sweet enough deal for an nforce 2 chipset.
Not interested in tons of MB features just want a fast reliable stable board. Anything I should know :)
Ok current setup is this:
Athlon 650
512 PC 133
Geforce 4 MX440
40 GB WD 7200
FIC SD12 Motherboard
Win 98se
How would you spend my money??
My goal is this:
1) Stability
2) Gaming
I am building the system for my brother so the stability is key. I dont want to be playing tech support all...
Yes the PS is solid. 350 should work fine. Can't remember the brand off the top of my head but enlight sounds right?
Here is what I was thinking:
Shuttle Motherboard AN35N-Ultra ($63 shipped Newegg)
AMD ATHLON XP 2200+/266 FSB ($68 shipped Newegg)
Samsung Original DDR333 PC-2700 512mb CAS2.5...

I build gaming systems for friends all the time so I am very current with the gaming systems etc.
A friend of mine recently asked me to build him a video editing system so I wanted to see if I could tap into some advice here. I know from the start that I'll be doubling the DDR that I would...
First off - Jen. Thank you ) You have been a huge help.
Secondly how should I measure the temps while running those progs? I didn't think that they ran in window mode? and the program I use to monitor cpu temp does not seem to log it - any suggestions?
Ok went up to 1.8 last night at 150 FSB x 11 (locked) and still had stability problems.
I assume that 1.9 should be my limit?
Pretty bummed at this point because I dont have any heat issues at all. Maybe I am missing trouble shooting an area - could it be my memory timing/settings?
I think it is a Palomino - hmm does that mean I am hitting the CPU's limit? :(
I just re-read the Athlon Agoia thread that is about 170+ posts log ) seems this baby has alot of potential
Not sure right now Snatch I am at work but I'll check the info I worte down from the cpu tonight. How much of a difference will that make? /e crosses fingers...
