Building Video Editing System - Advice needed

I build gaming systems for friends all the time so I am very current with the gaming systems etc.

A friend of mine recently asked me to build him a video editing system so I wanted to see if I could tap into some advice here. I know from the start that I'll be doubling the DDR that I would normally put into a gaming system and of course maxing out the storage space.

But I wanted to see if there were any guru's with some additional tips.

Video card - ATI Radeon 9700 All in wonder Pro

CPU - Does dual make sense? I prefer AMD

Memory - 1GB

Motherboard - I like Aopen boards but think I might want to change

DVD-R

HD - Looking for a recco here also
