172X looks to use the same panel as the 710T. Why get that when that 172X is like $100+ more? I don't really care for the base-that-you-cannot attach since I want to mount the panels onto LCD arms. As well, the 172X doesn't pivot..

I wasn't referring to you...I was referring to what specs the Samsung sites were all lying about. Visit samsung.ca and look at the 710T. Really? It didn't look like it from the pictures at newegg.

The 710T is not a 16.7 color panel, it's a actually a 16.2 color panel. I am still leaning towards the Samsung 710T, but the VP171B has a nice height adjustable stand.. Is the 171B a 16.7 or 16.2 panel?
