Let me guess with one of those "it sounds too good to be true" prices? Just because everything is made in China, doesn't mean it's all equal. :)
It's possible you have a sub-par BT card in your laptop, but my first guess would be you unfortunately bought a crappy mouse.
Every case I've bought in recent history has had multiple front mount fans with a straight, unobstructed path to the GPU. I don't see a bottom fan being an improvement on that, especially at the cost of losing one or more top fan mounts and having the power supply sucking in hot air.
You'll note that at no time have I said I agree with all the complaints about the model numbers. But, that statement depends on the clock speeds. If Intel sacrifices clock speed for these extra cores you could legitimately end up with a newer processor of the same model range being slower than...
@unseengundam101 If you were happy with the performance of your old system, it just died then Threadripper or the 2700 you already tried is just wildly overkill. If this is just a basic file server, I'd go with a 2200G, a decent M.2 boot drive, and at least 8Gb of fast RAM. The Celeron G1620...
There's one massive logical fallacy you're making and that's that the vast majority makes reasonable assessments. The vast majority of people don't know/care that it gained two more cores. The vast majority of people don't even know how many threads they currently have or their clock speed...
At that price it is hard to argue, but I would just make the FYI that it's an older model and it's a non-standard model so you can't really find any reputable reviews on it.
It's the same reason people got mad at BMW when they re-did they're naming scheme. It has been the same for decades so people knew what new model they were searching for without any research.
I never said it was perfectly comfortable. I'd prefer it be 68f at all times, every where I go. But you're acting like you're going to die because it's 85f out. I know people who only set their A/C to 82f. Even if your house is air conditioned, you still have to do stuff outside, IE yard...
Even better, people are working construction, roofing, and HVAC jobs in those temperatures. Serious props to the two guys who spent all day in my attic replacing my A/C. It was 105f in the house by the time they were done, had to be at least 140f in the attic.
Plot twist: With Fast Boot enabled, that's basically what you're doing as it doesn't completely shut down. Which is generally another factor when talking about how fast your computers boot time is.
CAM would be alerting if there was a pump issue and even if it wasn't working, that wouldn't explain an immediate spike in temps. Mounting issue gets my vote.
