Figured I'll chime in too. I also have no will=power and bought it this afternoon. I'm so pathetic, in fact, that I bought the 256MB deal from Crucial. Christ, I am spoiling myself. :o

Any chance that there is a heat issue here? You've put everything back to defaults, and its still locking up, youve reinstalled and had lock ups as its installing. That eliminates any driver issues, so its gotta be hardware or bios at this point. My suggestion is 1st, check for the latest bios...

Had to get in on this one. (yeah right, I have 256MB already, what the hell do I need 512 for?) Just bought a 256MB stick of cas2. Everyone in this thread, thanks for exploiting my lack of self control and will-power. "I hate you guys, I hate you guys so very much...."

I'll take a stab at this one. I think it is fixed in IE 5.5. Can you upgrade to it? I used version 5.5, along with Win2k, and no longer have this problem. Another idea is to use GetRight.....good luck.
