    CD Drive forcing reboot

I was uploading music onto my computer from my CD collection when the CD disc drive seemed to hang (it was getting pretty heavy use). However, after a few seconds this caused my whole system to reboot (no blue screen, no nothing, just straight to reboot). I just installed a new motherboard...

    New Computer Won't Boot

Yeah, all the power plugs are in and secure. That's the first thing I checked since there are so many of them, I thought I might have missed one. But nope, they're all good. I've tried starting up with just the mobo, power supply, CPU, hard drive, memory, and video card. Is there a way that...

    New Computer Won't Boot

I just finished putting together my first build today, and needless to say I was excited. I turned the power switch on (the one at the back), and then with a shaking finger pushed the power button. At this point the fans started humming and the LEDs went on like Christmas lights. However, my...

    Crossfire 3200 vs. 200

Thanks cupajava, that was actually really helpful. I didn't know that part about Nvidia owning the makers of the north bridge. And although crossfire performance does matter to me, I think I'll be going with the AT8 anyway. Again, thanks for the input.

    Crossfire 3200 vs. 200

Perhaps you'll be, but I don't plan to replace half my computer every other year, I just can't afford it. And that leads me back to my question. Is it worth throwing down the extra $90 now for the ASUS A8R32-MVP or the ABIT AT8 32X, or should I just go with the ABIT AT8 since it currently has...

    Crossfire 3200 vs. 200

Ok, so I'm building my first computer (finally) and I've even ordered most of the parts. I've already decided that I want to go with a crossfire set up, but I'm having a real hard time deciding which Mobo chipset to go with, the 3200 or 200. I've a bunch of the 3200 reviews, and certainly it...

    X1800XT Crossfire Setup Question

Since I've only bought one, it would be hard to sell them both. The only reason that I want a dual card solution in the first place is so that in a year or year ans a half from now I can buy the 2nd card for cheap and increase the longevity of my computer. I AIN'T MADE OF CASH, YO!!! But...

    X1800XT Crossfire Setup Question

Well that sucks... hopefully I can still exchange the card that I have now. Well, thanks for the heads up anyway. You're right, the XL also has 16 pipes; its the GTO that has 12.

    X1800XT Crossfire Setup Question

Yeah, but that isn't always the case - you're right that in instances where the two cards have different numbers of pipes, they will both operate at the lower level... But that isn't the case when they have different clock speeds, as they will both opporate at their own individual clock speeds...

    X1800XT Crossfire Setup Question

I've been looking for the answer to this everywhere, but I just can't find it. First off I know that if you want a crossfire setup you have to have at least one of them be a crossfire edition card so that it will act as the master card, and that both cards have to have the same GPU (i.e. both...
