Tri 480 GTX to AMD 7990

Wait for an aftermarket custome factory overclocked AMD 290X the stock AMD card has a 512bit bus with only 5000Mhz ram.. wait for third party board makers to start adding 6000-7000Mhz ram versions and upping the GPU clock with a big factory overclock. may even be 20% faster then the stock card...

AMD GPU14 Tech Event Sept 25 - AMD Hawiian Islands

R9 290X 300 GB/sec. bandwidth (vs. 288 GB/sec. in 7970 GE) For the new R9 290X (512bit bus) to get only 12 GB/sec more memory bandwidth vs HD7970Ghz (384-bit bus ) all while using a massive 512bit memory bus it must be using really slow GDDR5 maybe 3800Mhz or something wow.. what a step back...

    First Steamroller processor core exposure

Glad to be in Australia.. the only Western country to not go into the recension bucket. But we cap our CEO's and tax the hell out of rich people to give to the poor.. works well! AMD lost allot of Intel's blackmail tactics and has what it has now. The future is looking better then it was but...

To the people that are waiting to upgrade

I'm interested in how steamroller performs and how it compares to Haswell seeing as Haswell isnt much better then Sandy Bridge 5-10% at most! but steamroller is a massive 30-50% vs Bulldozer moving away from crippled 8 cores back to "almost" full 8 CPU cores Probably wont beat Haswell on...

So someone explain me this DDR5 RAM PS4 getting

The latency thing isn't actually true. Typical GDDR5 memory controllers have high latency, but the modules themselves don't necessarily. Most of what I've seen indicates the opposite; that GDDR5 can have extremely low latency vs DDR3, but building a memory controller to take advantage of that is...

How the PlayStation 4 is better than a PC

GDDR5 uses less base voltage then DDR3 but it draws around 25% more power :) RAM in general doesn't use much power compared to CPU/GPU/HDD ext! Also the first GDDR5 running on 56nm node wasnt as efficient as the 46nm, 40nm and 28nm GDDR5 that's currently used on HD7970GE and will be in the PS4...
