what version of mandrake are you running and do you know what version of X it uses? what window manager are you using? what kind of graphics card do you have? is the text really small, or is it not rendering legibly at a decent size?

Kind of a newbie question here: will an AGP 4x card work in a 2x-only slot without any problems? Some of the gfx cards I'm looking at are listed as 4x, don't mention that they'll drop to 2x, and I'm not really in the mood to buy a new mobo... :) Thanks-- john
