Update : couldn't stand it any longer (yes I'm impatient) and opened them up. Bad news, these are the crap Imations. I popped them into CDR Identifier and they showed up as :
ATIP: 97m 26s 66f
Disc Manufacturer: CMC Magnetics Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g...
Dont know if this is at all Office Depot's, but the one in the University Village, Seattle WA is having a clearance of all Imation CD-R's, these are good to 12x and are $19.99 for each 50 x 700mb spindle. I looked these up at CD Media World and they are supposed to be Taiyo Yuden meaning GOOD...
I would start lower except the 6.5 multiplier doesn't work, only 7, 7.5 and 9, 9.5 works. Still I've had no problems at 970 so far. I'm running on 1.85v but once I make sure this is okay I'll start lowering the voltage
Yes my RAM is PC133, Micron stick CAS 3. However I'm running it at CAS2 now...
Just before I left, I thought I'd give 9.5 a try and what the heck it worked! messing around some more I bumped the FSB up to 102 and I'm now running at 970 pretty stably. 103 just would not boot cleanly (registry error) so I'll burn this in and stress test it for a day or two before taking a...
Third time around seems to have kicked in some life. I'm now running at 750 on a 7.5x multiplier which means it's not a locked down CPU in anyway, just crappy penciling! Woohooo! ;)
Only the 7.5 and the 9 multiplier (unstable) seem to be working so far. Everything else isn't registering. I'm...
Update : been slowly stepping up the FSB, it will boot at 107 giving me 750, highest it will post at is 112. This is at 1.7v, 1.85 and pushing higher just gets it to boot further into Windows before crashing. Still, better than nothing.
I redid the pencil marks, reapplied grease etc. Getting...
Okay.. system runs fine at 700 (7 x 100), however when I try to bump the FSB up to 133 it refuses to boot or even give a display. Have to wipe the CMOS to change it back to 700. It will boot at 100 FSB but not at 133. Any ideas why?
Changing the settings to 750(not even user define) also...
Got up this morning and remembered 3 beeps meant video card in the KT7 FAQ, I still thought I'd screwed up by doing the L7 but there's no harm in trying the video card before pulling it all apart again right? went to pull out my g400 and replace it with an older card and... hang on, hey, it goes...
It's getting late and I'm too tired to mess with it any longer but I suspect I screwed up by penciling in the L7 bridges, think I did 2 and 4. Do these need to be penciled in to take the voltage to 1.85v and beyond? or does the bios already do this. System boots up, no image and gives me 3 beeps...
Oh, www.thermaltake.com recently put up a mini-super orb too .5mm less in diameter. Just my luck eh?
There's really nowhere local I can buy even a socket cooler and by the time I order a new cooler and get this one replaced my warranty will be out so I'll look into making that lateral cut...
Hi,
On the KT7A-RAID the capacitors are moved back a little so people with chrome orbs etc won't have any problems, however they are still too close for the Super Orb to be placed! I've heard of some people managing to bend the capacitors slightly to fit their Chrome Orbs and what not, how has...
Mine were labelled Speedy, guess it was the luck of the draw. Hearing of BigDave's experiences I'm not going to wait to try it in my KT7A-Raid when it comes (money back will expire by then). I'm RMA-ing it today. So words to the wise for those who still might take the up on this deal. If you get...
I have a stick of generic 256 PC133 in 32 x 4 configuration. It's rated to work with the A7V but not the KT7. There's a huge ass thread about this over in Hot Deals already

Although it's pretty 50/50 some have gotten it...
Zeusy where'd you order that KT7A-RAID? Was it Ajump.com? I was going to order my Asus and Duron only a few days ago when I started seeing the reviews popup. Now I'm raring to order with the need in mind to get them and play before the 14 day money back on this RAM runs out!!
Grrr Ajump is...
