soyo dragon kt400 ultra platinum edition or asus a7v333

i have 2 maxtor ata133 hd's but when i do hdtach test i am only doing about ~average read speed = 40425kps. Now normal ata133 raid 0 drives do about 60000kps. I have the newest and coorect drivers also. is there a way i can see if my hd is at ata133? I know i have an 80pin round ide cable...

I have 2 maxtor ata u133 30gb hd's on a raid 0 array. I did sisoftware sandra to test the performance. It tested to be even with 2 ata u66 on raid 0 array whereas it shoud've had the same results as the other 2 hd's ata u133 40gb's. why is there such a big difference? PLEASE help :)

On my raid 0 when i try to install buy hitting F6 i get an error code 18 and cant figre out a way to fix it... yes i have latest drivers and bios, and es the right files are on the floppy. i have a soyo dragon kto400 platinum edition motherboard. wtf is up with this?

no u will not lose any data. your onboard raid has its own chip on the motherboard and stores the data on that, the new bios will not affect it.

i wouldnt but that gigabyte motherboard though. I have had two of there top selling boards in the past and they both gave me all sorts of problems. i would go asus all the way. :)

maybe when u went to sleep a small computer monster removed all your sound icon and reprogrammed windows not to play sound? It happend back in 83 and then again in 92 so u never know....

hessakia is correct because when i goto the highpoint configuration and goto make a raid 0(striping) array it says all data will be lost are you sure u want to continue. so... i guess i will wate till soyo get there head out there a** and fixes it...?

Ok... If I dont press F6 on the winxp install to install the drivers, windows just says it cant find any hard drives connected to my computer. and yes i have the latest drivers and bios from the motherboard mfg site. All help is appreciated greatly. I e-mailed soyo and they never replied...

on your second hard deive put your jumper on slave or cable select and go in your bios and make sure your first hard drive is set first boot device. also, make sure there isnt a floppy in your flopyy drive :)

raid pisses me off. I have a amd xp 2400+ with a soyo kt400 ultra motherboard. XP wouldnt even let me install raid so i had to buy a new hard drive,make an image of it and send it to my raid drive, now my xp is unstable. nonetheless my computer doesnt even seem to be all that fast? wtf is up...
