I just got a new Tbird, 1.33, and am planning to install a Thermoengine cooler. I notice there are 4 rubber pads on the cpu, which prevent the cooler from making contact. I haven't installed the cooler yet, so perhaps the pressure of the clip will force contact, but I am unsure. Any feedback...

The problem is there is so little to choose from right now. I was considering Cosair, but I've heard from a few people that doesn't oc very well. I'm a bit hesitant to get PC1600, even tho I've heard the Crucial does oc well. I figure if PC1600 can over clock well, then good PC2100 should be...

Do you have any experience with this board? Any others you would prefer? One could always use the fsb settings to bump up the speed, but it would be nice if the multiplier settings could be changed. I've heard some rumors this might be enabled with a bios update sometime......

Getting ready to move to an AMD ddr platform (1.33mhz most likely). Anyone have any experience with any of the mobo's currently available? Any suggestions? I'm strongly considering the Asus A7M266. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, TomT

I have been thinking about upgrading my system to the Abit KT7 raid board, and Thunderbird, from Asus K7M and Athlon. I would also buy new PC133 memory (a big part of the cost of doing this). From what I have read, AMD 760 based boards are not too far off. Any opinions about waiting for this...
