Have a chance to pickup a VP6 with a pair of 933's on it for a realitively low price and would like some opinion on the board and it's performance capabilities. It's got 1024 PC-133 sittin on it
well billyjack you are one of the lucky ones then, Audigy hates the VIA chip regardless of board brand. Have Santa Cruz on a KR7A with Z540s and it really rocks.
The 25-35% was just a guess on my part because of the questionable reports I've read. Also I did not relize that ECS was the largest M/B manufacturer. Thanks All have probly got better info off these 5 posts than have in the past. May have to give ECS a whirl, don't think I'll be out much even...

It is not just the KR7 that has problems with sound blaster, it is the VIA chip. Audigy just hates it . I went with a Tutle Beach Santa Cruz and LOVE it. Sells for 60-75 bucks and team it with a set of Z540's and it rocks.

Have heard the onboard sound is outstanding. Would like some input as to it's quality to help in deciding whether or not to purchase a sound card . If purchase a card it will be a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. If they are equal in quality then heck with the card.
Am building new comp and am undecided on MB. Love the EPOX but also think the Abit KR7 is an excellent MB. Problem is am going to do a little video editing and am interested in the upside of the ATA 133 of the ABIT. ? is the 133 transfer that much faster or is there little difference.
Could someone please explain the Different types of SCSI. Am confused as to what will run with what and whether each different type needs it's own controller card or whether 1 controler card will run several different types. Am biulding new system and would like to have an SCSI drive for the...
