I think a laptop is the way to go for daily/office usage. If you're a programer though, it might be a little of an annoyance working with that keyboard all day long. Since laptops are getting very cheap these days, I suggest you get one anyway (if you can afford it)

how much of a performance gap is there between the 7900GT and the 7900GTX? I mean other than what I see in charts, in real life, do you actually notice the difference?
