InfernoBanana, I think you'll need to go with a Hauppauge card (the Theater, HD or D ranging from $99 to $199) to get real 5.1 sound... I'm not sure if they include a PVR or what the capture limitations are but check out www.hauppauge.com for more info if you're interested. If your audio card...
I know the Leadtek is a great choice with a 10 bit ADC and decent software, but the versatility of the Asus remote is very appealing. I'll be using it for Hi8 tranfers and PVR. Any recommendations or comments? Comments from anybody using the Asus would be appreciated.
Anybody found any other Nforce2 boards? So far Biostar is all I know of. Oh and does anybody know of any expected release dates for MATX Nforce2 boards?
Thanks
Only place I've found it is at XTechnology (a Yahoo store). It's a bit pricey at $119 and ships in 5-7 days. Google search rocks!
EDIT: I just noticed that the XTech site titles it as the L7VTA (A for ATX) but the pic and description is of the L7VTM. Before you order I suggest you...
Funny how some people are afraid of ECS, personally given a choice, I'd stay away from VIA. 'in the old days when ecs/pcChips marketed total trash' implies that their current stuff is OK, so why continue staying away from Abit and Shuttle or ECS for that matter? Asus and Epox MATX are all...
The SK41 and the soon to be available SN41 (Nforce2) are the ONLY XP Flex w/AGP.
As for MATX, ECS has put together a VIA KT400 board that looks real nice, the L7VTM. Biostar is comming out with the M7NCD which has an Nforce2 Chipset, and there's a few KT333, some Nforce, and plenty of...
I WAS looking for a Gigabyte 8500 in Canada also... but after an exhausting and fruitless search I settled on a built by ATi card. Good luck in your search, may you have the luck that I didn't.
Those ATi drivers still need ALOT of work. Thanks for the Theater Mode setting, it's exactly what I was looking for. Now if I could get the setting to stick when switching back and forth between dual display I'd be set!
I've just installed my new Radeon 8500 video card, updated to the latest drivers and had a poke around at all the settings. It's set up to dual display to my monitor and to my TV set. I've managed to get everything I wanted working atleast once but I haven't figured out how to watch a...
I recall a BIOS setting for defaulting to the VGA to the AGP card (which would be the 8500). So given that the 8500 (AGP) is the primary display, how would I set up the AIW (PCI) to view the video input/TV on my monitor which is connecred to the AGP card? Hmmmm.....
Can it be done?
I just bought a Radeon 8500 (AGP) and I was looking for a video capture device and then it hit me... how about an AIW 128 Pro in one of the available PCI slot? That would be sweet... but is it possible?
Thanks.
