Okay, you're not going to believe this... My 640M of RAM is spread over 3 sticks, 2 256s and 1 128. I came across an article on MSKB about instability in win9x with more than 512M of RAM, and decided (what the hell) to pull the 128 stick and see what happens. 3dmark now works perfectly...
