has 2k8 Server hyper-v met your VM needs?

It's true VMware doesn't come with Windows licenses, but the 4 VMs per Enterprise license does apply to VMware (or any other hypervisor). You "assign" the Enterprise license to a ESX host. http://www.vmware.com/pdf/ms_licensing_faqs.pdf

has 2k8 Server hyper-v met your VM needs?

Hyper-V isn't free, unless you are talking about the hypervisor-only version that is equivalent to the free license of ESXi. Otherwise, you still have Windows licensing costs, plus System Center costs. You need to use the Enterprise version of 2008 R2 to create a failover cluster. Still...

has 2k8 Server hyper-v met your VM needs?

I agree, and I can't stand using Hyper-V myself. Just want to make sure the negatives are based on facts.

has 2k8 Server hyper-v met your VM needs?

Not sure where you're getting this, but it's not true. You can migrate XP VMs on Hyper-V all day long and have HA.

Wow, Win7 runs even though it's "not genuine"?

This was true with Vista RTM, but it was removed in SP1 (IIRC) and never added back in. So Win7 will never stop functioning if not activated.

    exchange server question

This is not true. You can have as many DCs you want in an SBS network. The limitations are that you can only have one *SBS* server on the network, the SBS server must hold all five FSMO roles, you can only have a single domain forest, since SBS does not support any kind of trust. The SBS server...
