    2 VPNs: Crashing PC

I have a Cisco VPN client installed for my school, and a Netgear VPN client for another connection to a network that I monitor. When both are installed when I shut down the PC, it blue screens and restarts. I'm assuming that because they both share IPSec that this is what is causing it...

Odd problem, network working, but cannot access Internet.

Got it figured out. It was the Winsock being corrupt. I uninstalled TCP/IP and then deleted the winsock registry keys and reinstalled TCP/IP.

Odd problem, network working, but cannot access Internet.

Yes, I've tried different browsers. IE spits out a DNS error page with the "Detect Network Settings" button that doesn't do anything and Netscape just says done. I would have thought that it was a DNS issue too, but in the command prompt it can resolve addresses to IP to ping them.

Odd problem, network working, but cannot access Internet.

It's a laptop running Windows 2000 Pro with an external NIC. It gets an IP address from the DHCP server and can ping websites, but it cannot access websites. We've tried: -reinstalling the NIC drive -uninstalling/installing TCP/IP protocol -uninstalling AOL in case it messed with...

Small office network, router problems, worth replacing?

So we bought the router and went to put it in, but the person who plugged it in (I'm not there to do it right now) said that there was no Link light for the broadband connection, so we'll give it another shot and see if we can't get it to work.

Small office network, router problems, worth replacing?

No domain is setup. They are all just on the same workgroup. Other than the NAS for some common files, the computers really don't interact with each other. Just the software and email/internet stuff. I'll look more into the Netgear. 8 ports should be enough for the network as some of them...

Small office network, router problems, worth replacing?

The NAS is a Snap 2200 Server set up for RAID. The Netgear FVS318 looks about like what I had in mind. Something for more than a couple home users. Is there any reason why you recommend the Netgear over a different company? Or why that specific one?

Small office network, router problems, worth replacing?

There are 9 computers total and one NAS. No one uses VPN. The only thing they use is the internet and they all access the NAS. The NAS stores the common files for the software they all run, but that's it. I feel like maybe upgrading to something like that may be over kill, but it's just...

Small office network, router problems, worth replacing?

We use a BEFSX41 Linksys router connected to a Linksys 8 port switch for a small office network with a broadband connection. Since the router and internet have been installed we lose connection on some or all of the computers to the internet, however the network storage device used in the...

I'll try both of them and see if that fixes it. Won't happen until Monday though (have to do it over the phone). Thanks for the help, I'll let you know if it works.

Small office network, 2 computers aren't getting IPs correctly, HELP

I set the IP to be static on one of the ones that was showing the incorrect IP address and when it restarted it didn't keep the set IP, it went back to Obtain IP automatically.

Small office network, 2 computers aren't getting IPs correctly, HELP

They are all Win2k Professional. The router range is 20 (from 100 to 119) but the NAS is set to use 192.168.1.150. So they only use 8 of them and then the 150 one.

Small office network, 2 computers aren't getting IPs correctly, HELP

I have 8 computers and one NAS on a network with a Linksys 8 port switch and a Linksys BEFSX41 (4 port firewall router) using the router for DHCP for a broadband connection. The NAS and 6 of the computers are getting IPs properly and can get on the internet, but 2 of them are pulling IPs such...

    T-Series Thinkpads

Flexview is the new 15" screen on the T42s. I just got a 14.1" T42 last week (so no Flexview), but I love it.
