<< hey spy what setting you using? I wanted to jump it to a 1.4 when it gets here... Cooling will be no trouble. Did you use the pencil trick on the cpu? Is it unlocked or did you bump the fsb on the mobo? >>
Currently at 1485Mhz (9*165) @ 2.05V , mine does 1400 at the default voltage of...
I have been using a 1200MP with an Epox 8K7A+ for the last 2 months or so and it has been very stable indeed , just flash it to thee 1802 (current)BIOS to enable SSE support , the 1200MP is usually overclocks to 1475Mhz - 1525Mhz depending on voltage and cooling
First try setting the CAS latency to 2 in BIOS , this speeds things up a little bit. Then try to raise the FSB to 150Mhz (keeping the overall speed in mind) if you can you will see a nice improvement in memory bandwidth related applications and games

Thanks a lot Pabster , I'm happy with the performance of my upcoming Pally
Have you found there to be any compatiblity issues with the Epox and the Palamino or does it perform as stably as a normal Tbird in the mobo ?
Thanks again
Hi Pabster,
Firstly those are pretty good scores as the benchmark is largely dictated by the graphics card and not the processor.
Can you tell me what kind of memory benchmark you get at 1500 (10x150@ CAS2) as I have this chip arriving in 2 days and already have the Epox Board and Crucial...
Those are not good idle temps people , your motherboards obviously do not support the halt cpu function whereby the CPU truly becomes idle when surfing or doing some non strenous activity , I have a TBird at 1430 (10x143) @ 1.85V on an Epox DDR mobo using a stock Taisol Fan , without...
I cannot see any reason why not , in the last week I have tried my board (8K7TA+) with a Geforce DDR , MX and GTS and it has been most stable , I have also tried 2 Radeons and again the stability and performance has been commendable
I can try and answer some of your questions
1) There is a beta BIOS out but I have found it to be slower than the shipping one , here is a link to it
http://www.athlonmb.com/files/epox/8k7a/8k7a1521.bin
2)There is a temperature sensor in the socket itself , use a program like Via Hardware...
I have this board and am very pleased with it , I have seen that some members have gotten this board up to astronomical FSB's (170 - 190FSB) , the shipping BIOS only allows FSB's of 166 , so does anyone know where I can get the extended FSB BIOS from , thanks in advance
