Should I use the DSDT from your SnowLeopard kit to replace the DSDT in the Kakewalk Lion install USB drive?

Thanks, Mosslack. Do you know which Mobo to choose in Kakewalk? I don't think the P35-DS3L is on its official list.

@mosslack - Which / where is Kaido's beta? I did a thread search but find the results very hard to filter ... Will look at your Snow guides as well. [Edit: oops, just saw Kaido's post, will PM him as well]. Do you know if I can skip Snow and go straight to Lion? Not sure I'm hardy enough to...

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

Time to catch up from way-behind-the-curve ... I am finally forced to upgrade my 2 Kaido-original P35-DS3Ls from 10.5.8 to Snow, as some software I want requires Snow. Any pointer to a good way to do this? Thanks !!

This is my Intel BoxDG31PR. Chameleon 2.x. Safe boots fine. Regular boot and it comes to the desktop, then responds to most mouse input (e.g. open an app) with rainbow beachball. I did upgrade to 10.5.8 some weeks ago, upgrade seemed to go OK (except I still could not see that mac consistently...

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

My 2-year stable Hack (it's a Intel BOXDG31PR) has started going beach-ball on me after successful boot up. Would memory test would be a good place to start? Any pointers to the specifics on doing this? Any way to do this from a USB stick? Thanks! [EDIT: ran overnight memtest.iso off a CD, no...

The on-board ethernet seems to have died on my D3SL. What is a safe inexpensive compatible card? I'm on 10.5.8. Thanks!

Will an SSD work on a DS3L hack? If so, any advice or first-hand tips on: - which SSD - what OS (I have 10.5.8 currently) - any specific tips, kexts, etc. Much appreciated!

    - Made sure my SuperDuper backup was bootable - Had to update old Chameleon to 2.0RC4, as the disk was > 1TB - Ran 10.5.8 update through Software Update - Re-ran audio patch to get Line Out etc. working - Re-fixed keyboard modifier settings (not sure why they got lost) - Updated primary...

Hmm...might wait a bit on Snow. Is the upgrade to 10.5.8 simple? Download & install ComboUpdate? Anything need fixing after that? Thanks, Mosslack. I'm quite impressed with what's going on with the 1201N.

My P35-DS3L has been running 10.5.6 happily for a while using Kaido's guide from a year ago. Any pointer on how to upgrade to 10.5.8, or (preferably) to Snow (ideally off a USB stick, my dvd is on the blink) ?

Thanks, Mosslack (and Kaido). I think I will give this a go. One question -- the procedure seems to be (1) a boot-CD to get started, (2) swap out for 10.6 DVD to install SL, (3) boot-CD again, and continue boot off new SL HD (4) copy drivers etc. & install Chameleon onto HD. Do you think (1)...
