    BFG nVidia 7800 GS?

See if you can upgrade to a x1950pro AGP even if you have to pay a little bit of difference. It's arguably the best card for AGP at this time, and probably the last high end card we'll ever see for AGP. Good if you want to extend the gaming life of your AGP system. Geforce 7950GT >...

Placing a $250ish video card in an older system

Both are good cards, although the 7950GT is a tad faster in games, nothing huge though. I'd go for whichever is cheaper!

    X1950 Pro or 7900 GT?

If they are both the same price, go for the 7900GT because once overclocked (should be easy to clock to 7950GT levels) will be consistently faster than the x1950pro but not by a huge margin. They are both good cards but at this point I'd say wait - and get a 8800GTS when it gets cheaper.

Is this cards worth the money

I got the 7800GS+ for US$450 and it was a fantastic upgrade for me. Pricey, yes - but worth it as it prolonged the life of my AGP system. My current system uses fairly good parts and it would be a shame to 'upgrade' to a PCI-E system that used lesser quality parts for the sake of getting PCI-E...

    7800GS AGP with G71

I game at relatively low resolutions 1280x1024 and when I made the jump from my x800XT PE -> 7800GS+ (24 pipes) games were smoother, but the main drawing point was I could turn up all details on games and run with 4xAA and 16xAF. E.g. playing F.E.A.R on my previous card I had no AA and mostly...

    7800GS AGP with G71

The Gainward 7800GS+ uses a G71 chip with all functioning pipelines. The newer versions of the Leadtek 7800GS use a G71 core with disabled pipelines which are laser cut (16 pipelines active and no way to reenable them!)

    x1800xt 512mb vs x1950 pro

x1800xt vs x1950pro. This seems like more of a sidegrade than anything. If I were to sell the x1800xt I'd shell out more money for a 8800GTS (and get a nice boost in performance) or an XFX 7950GT (passive cooler) if noise really bothers you.

What card is better for gaming X800GTO AGP, 6600GT AGP

Wait for a while and get a x1950pro AGP, if it ever comes out it'll be great value for people with AGP systems and a decent CPU. A relatively cheap and simple upgrade, just pop the card in and away you go. It should be good enough to handle Crysis at low-medium resolutions (1280x1024) with most...

anyway to repair dead/stuck pixels on lcd??

I had the same problem (stuck pixel) and managed to fix it by massaging the area and running software such as 'dead pixel fixer'. The 'software' is just a movie that constantly changes colours to try and activate the dead pixel. Just run it on a loop. Not guaranteed to work but worth a try...

    Running AGP still...

Have you considered a 7600GS? It's fairly cheap and should perform better than the 6800XT. Reasonable game performance at lowish resolutions (1024x768). IMO it's better to fork out a bit more and get a x1950pro AGP - but only if you game on the PC, or it's totally wasted!

    x1900gt

Seconded. You could also go with an NV silencer.

AGP upgrading in a breadbox sized computer

Out of the 2 the 6800GS should perform better in most if not all games. I'd go for a 7600GT AGP or 7800GS at the very least, hopefully the price will come down in time as they are still a tad expensive for the performance!

AGP upgrading in a breadbox sized computer

Just to let you know, the X1950pro AGP was apparently a typing mistake from Diamond Multimedia. They made the same mistake a few years ago when they announced an AGP x1800XT. The only alternative in that performance range is the Gainward Bliss 7800+ (7900GT core on AGP) which won't fit unless...
