Have you tried a using a 98 boot disk and fdisk /mbr to recreate the master boot record? If viruses can hide there, then I would imagine that a Dell BIOS check program could do the same.

Maybe you plugged the cable into the uplink port of the router? Try another port.

The Sybex books are sort of long without giving enough information. The Coriolis Exam Cram series are more complete, but the information is more condensed (slower reading). I've read both of them for my Win2K Pro cert., and I've found the Coriolis books to be more helpful.

Microsoft link Looks like you need an NT4 Server disk to do that. I think the software is available on the MS site, but I can't seem to find it.

Tip: I've heard that using WD-40 to lubricate the cut will make it easier and prevent that wrenching effect as the heat builds up.

I had a similar problem. Turns out that the game (Reach for the Stars) was incompatible with the Detonator drivers I had (forgot which version). After upgrading the drivers, it worked fine. Hope this helps.
