I have the gigabyte x58a-ud3r and i know exactly what your talking about my motherboard makes that funny noise too.. i dont know if it HT thats causing it but its annoying lol
right now i have HT on with 1.45v
I had it 1.4v but i got a BSOD using prime :P
but this seem to be alot of Voltage for a 3.8ghz oc i seen ppl use less but i dunno i'll see if this is stable but temp is a issue its at the 80's
it really depends on the batch you get i guess ;P I finally got mine stable at 3.8ghz with decent but not good enough temperatures. And I dont like the vcore voltage much at 1.4v but this is how it is stable so i guess i have to live with it :P
bclk: 200
<multiplier: 19x
qpi link speed: x36
dram: 6x 1200mhz
unclk: 13x
timing: 9-9-9-24 1T
vcore: 1.4v
qpi/vtt: 1.4v
dram: 1.66v
qpi pll: 1.2v
so far stable for 3hr in prime95 blend test with temp at 78c
i cant find the cpu vtt
all i have is qpi vtt and qpi/vtt
I left the qpi/vtt auto
well i looked at your setting on ur sig and i see if i can do it with your setting it boot but i dunno haha
i only change the qpi vtt to 1.2v and vcore to 1.31875 and dram to 1.66v
My overvoltage led is...
bclk: 190
multiplier: 20x
qpi link speed: x36
dram: 6x 1140mhz
unclk: 13x
timing: 8-8-8-24 1T
vcore: auto
qpi/vtt: auto
dram: auto
I get the bsod on prime95 i'm not sure which BSOD
:P
I had the V2 but unfortunately i screwed up one of my ram slots. I replaced it with a Gigabyte EX58 Extreme but i cant seem to get a stable overclock at 3.8ghz like i had on my v2 sigh :(
I currently own i7 920 with a gigabyte ex58 extreme mobo and 6gb corsair dominators triple channel kit. I have it at 3.8ghz but I cant seem to get it stable. Anybody can give me a few advices?
