Simple answer: Yes. However, you must cut the cable as close as possible to middle connector and then look at the cut wire with a magnifying glass (or something similar) to make sure none of the wires are shorted. I really reccemend that you forgo this adventure and purchase single ended...

Assuming the scanner is connected to the external connector, it needs to be terminated. As for the internal devises, always terminate the devise on the connector furthest away from the adapter card.

Don't know if this would work, but if you can get access to the +12 and the -12 volts from your power supply that would be 24v... example foloowing... connect the +12v lead to the positive of you fan, connect the -12 lead to the ground or neg lead of your fan. any one think this would work?
