I'm a grad student. In servers my jobs do take a day or so and I use parallel so many cores do make a difference. It may still be overkill though ;)

There's no information in the manual and support at Acer didn't want to tell me. Can there be any damage if I don't take it out to replace the HDD? (As a general rule, I mean) ie. do I always need to take out the battery before replacing anything for the components to be safe?
