I'd think they would definitely be faster than the older drives, since they have 8mb of cache and the average seek time is only 1ms slower.

I get hundreds of channels through TimeWarner cable here and also have there Roadrunner service, both services are close to perfect, the only thing I don't really like is the slow 36K upload speed, but the news server they provide is better than most pay servers.

Why don't you just call the cable company and tell them to fix it....or do it yourself......easy solution. The picture should be just about perfect unless your cables are broken.
