OK so I've had this system for over a year now. It's a amd64 3200+ running at 2.5 ghz on a msi k8n neo2 platinum and I was running an 80 gig IDE maxtor drive. I decided to get a SATA raptor drive and install my OS on it and I had a hell of a time setting it up, but it's up and running now. My...
I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm going with an Athlon 64 3000+ with a MSI Neo2 board and I'm gonna try for 2.5 ghz on air. Just a couple questions: what would you recommend for the HSF? And do you think I will be able to re-use my current 512+256 Corsair XMS PC3200 memory? Thanks.
yea after looking around a little it seems like the Winchester 64's are kicking some serious ass, so I'm thinking something along the lines of a 3000+ and hopefully getting 2.4-2.5 Ghz out of it on air - so that's right on par with a 3800-4000 right? Newegg has em for $149 which aint bad at all...
Looks like it's time to upgrade my old Athlon XP setup. I recently put in a new PNY GF 6800 for Half Life 2, but the CPU just can't keep up and I want to get the full potential out of my new card. My current system looks like this:
Epox 8k5a2, AXP 1600@2200+ (344 fsb), 768 MB Corsair XMS...
hmm are you sure? It runs absolutely great except for these small bugs. Maybe the Nvidia drivers aren't gone? They should be but maybe not. I've heard a couple people mention a program called Driver Cleaner so maybe I'll try that and reinstall the ATI drivers. If that doesn't work then...
I just installed a Radeon 8500 64 MB to replace my 32 MB Geforce DDR card on my XP machine. I purchased the card from Ebay and it was just the card itself. I downloaded the latest windows xp drivers from ATI's website. In Windows it works fine, but in any fullscreen 3D game the display seems...
Hey I'm thinking about picking up a 64 MB GF2 MX from Fry's today since they are on sale for $30 after rebate. I intend to put it in my secondary system which is currently running a very old ATI 4MB card. My main system is still running an old 32 MB GF1 DDR and I was wondering if the 64 MB GF2...
Well I think I fixed it now. I went and bought a new Antec case with a 350w PSU and a good surge protector. I was reading the boxes of the surge protectors and they make different ones for low-end computers (1 Ghz) and high-end (2 Ghz+). So maybe this happened because I was using an old surge...
Yesterday there was a split-second power failure and when I tried to turn the computer back on by pressing the power switch, nothing happened. So I figured the power supply was probably dead. I wasn't sure how this could happen since everything is hooked up to a surge protector. So then I...
OK I don't know how but the Sharing and Security is there now. So I enabled sharing, but when the guest computer tries to browse it will ask for a password. I never entered any password so why is it asking? I pressed enter and it says it's an invalid password.
