Definitely use those off the site. Had many problems with NForce boards that didn't have most up to date drivers. That's step number 1 on gettin' the bad boy running! ;)
Yeah, you can do this. Boot from the CD, select install, it'll warn you, select the same partition and folder. That way you just install over it. Then when it boots you have to patch that bitch as quick as possible.
Picked up a BB King Christmas CD the other year. Good stuff on there. Gotta love a guy who can sing about the bluesy side of Christmas. Up here they play all that sappy crap on the radio all day.
Ordered mine, shipping was determined by location. Looks like it uses one of those APIs for shipping. Could be blind but I don't see the rebate on Amazon and plus, I don't mind paying two bucks more and not having to wait for rebate and slow shipping. Gift for the holiday.

Just burn that, go to the computer, enter bios and make sure it boots from CD first, reboot and go through the tests. Of course try it on your comp first to make sure it works and which tests...
Has anyone been able to get the IT8212 (or referred to ITE8212 as well) controller working on Linux? I have it on my Asus board and Asus provides a driver from it but it doesn't compile to make the module. The IT company (in Taiwan) has an outdated driver on their site that also doesn't compile...
I don't know off hand but try checking the manual (which I'm guessing you don't have). Otherwise go to the Sony support site and try to find the manual for your computer. It should have detailed directions in there.
I'd say it's the power supply as well. If you bought a cheap power supply they sometimes have too large a span of power fluctuation. As the video card will require a larger amount of power that would explain the problem when playing games (although power to video might be consistent).
