Apparently WMP attempts to read ID tag info from .mp3 discs.......no info, defaults to "audio track". No way to turn that feature off.......not a brilliant move by MS>

It would appear that according to Microsoft WMP 9 needs to be uninstalled and WMP 10 installed. I guess XP Service pack 2 struck again!

Sorry, thought you had XP already installed. The only thing I can think of is ....is your copy of XP a valid copy or a downloaded version? What does Partition Magic do when it is inserted? Does it allow you to reformat and label your drives? If Partition Magic runs ok, then connections are...

Try going to "Control Panel"..."system "..."Hardware" then to "device manager" click on the + at disk drives and see if your drives are shown. If they are you can (a) uninstal the device and reboot letting your computer re-recognize the drive. if that doesn't work or your drives are not shown...

Looks like it turned out to be media......new burners do not like "el cheapo" Cicero media. Yes I know Nero and Easy CD do not like each other, but I uninstalled one before trying the other. Unfortunately I am not impressed with either program, their tech service sucks! (previous experience)...
